What We Get Called For in Tamarac

Tamarac ZIP codes we cover: 33319, 33321, 33351

Accessible Bathrooms Without the Institutional Look

Tamarac has a significant share of long-term residents and several age-restricted communities, and the most requested bathroom change here is converting a tub to a low-threshold or curbless walk-in shower. Done properly that means a relocated or re-sloped drain, a correctly waterproofed and flood-tested pan, blocking in the walls for grab bars, and a bench and handheld that look like design choices rather than medical equipment. Blocking costs almost nothing while the walls are open and a fortune to retrofit later.

Villa Communities and Shared Roofs

A great deal of Tamarac housing is attached villas where the roof, and sometimes the exterior walls, are association responsibility. Before any exterior project starts it is worth establishing in writing where your responsibility ends and the association's begins. We would rather find that out at the quoting stage than have a homeowner pay for something the association was obliged to cover.

Original Kitchens and Original Panels

Houses built here in the early 1970s were wired for a very different kitchen. Adding dedicated circuits, GFCI protection and under-cabinet lighting frequently means the panel needs attention. It is a manageable cost and a predictable one — provided somebody opens the panel and looks before writing the estimate.

Permits and Approvals in Tamarac

Tamarac issues its own permits with inspections for structural, plumbing, electrical, window and roofing work. Most villa and association communities require architectural approval for exterior changes and many require contractor registration and defined work hours. We complete the registration and the submission before the start date rather than on it.

How We Price a Tamarac Project

We walk the space with you, look at what is likely to sit behind the surfaces, and write down exactly what is included and what is not. You get a fixed price against that scope, named allowances for anything you have not chosen yet, and a schedule with real dates. Nothing gets built without a signed change order. Licensed and insured, and the debris leaves with us. See everything we do or call (954) 331-7392.

A Little Tamarac Background

Tamarac was founded in 1963 by developer Kenneth Behring, who built it initially as a community aimed at retirees, with compact single-storey homes and villas laid out around golf and recreation. The name is generally traced to a contraction Behring liked rather than to anything local. The city later expanded westward with conventional family housing, but the original eastern sections still carry that early design intent — which is why so much of the work here involves adapting 1960s and 1970s layouts to how people live now.
